GSEC is a business plan competition, organized by University of Washington, Seattle, USA, that invites students from around the world to find creative and commercially sustainable ways to reduce poverty through new business development.
IBS team comprising of Mr. Manas Kumar Mondal and Mr. Pavan Kumar Venkatrao were selected out of 200 entries for the final presentation at the University in Seattle, USA. The team presented a social venture aimed at helping the farmers community through a farmer’s cooperative to extract biodiesel from Jatropha seeds.
The twelve teams that made it to the final are:
Center for Humane Studies (Ghana); Bharathidasan University (India); ICFAI University (India); Alakhawayn University (Morocco); Bang College of Business (Kazakhstan); Xavier Labor Relations Institute (India); Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Higher Studies (India); Peking University (China); Johns Hopkins University; Georgia State University, and two from the University of Washington.
The IBS team won the Final Grand Prize of $5,000 and also the Peoples Choice Award |
