Family
I got married to Madhuri in 1999, who holds a master’s in computer application and works for a software company apart from being the perfect home maker. We are blessed with Rohit, who is 5 years old.
Career after IBS
IBS helped me with all the skills and confidence in taking up my first job. The learnings at IBS helped me achieve the position of a team leader in just 18 months. My career has been pretty satisfying so far, both intellectually and financially. I don’t believe in changing jobs regularly but I very strongly believe in providing value to the clients.
Currently I am with Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. as a Project Manager. Broadridge was earlier a part of the ADP’s brokerage services division.
B-school degree
It does help when you are leading or managing a team and instills all the requisites to manage the available resources better. It helps in every aspect of a job starting from planning, to identifying training needs, to resourcing, identifying and recruiting the right people.
Perfect life
Be positive and enjoy every thing that you do, at work or at home. Life is so precious so be healthy and be happy to enjoy every bit of it.
Relaxing
The kind of industry that I am in, it demands a lot from an individual in terms of time, energy and commitment.
My son helps me relax with his innocence. I really enjoy spending my time with him as he is a big question bank and I enjoy clarifying all his questions. A lot of thinking goes into answering the questions which most of the times seem as silly.
I also enjoy watching Discovery Travel & Living whenever I can find time.
Ideal
There are two people from whom I draw a lot of inspiration. They are my mother and my wife. I see a lot of energy, confidence, care and patience in them.
Biggest lesson
Do your job with right attitude, commitment and hard work and rewards will automatically follow. Of course, in the current scenario, it is also important to let people know what you have been doing.
One thing that India/Indians are lacking
To sum it up in one line “We Indian follow the crowd rather than following our own instincts” Though the scene is fast changing and the younger generation is aware of the opportunities in every field and they are shaping their skills accordingly. Success stories of the people and availability of information is making the younger lot to take up challenges and achieve great success in their interest areas.
Friends
I am trying to participate in every activity that IBSAF is conducting so that I can meet at least few of my batch mates and make friends from other batches.
Advice to fellow alumni
I can certainly advice alumni, who are just entering into their careers, by saying show commitment to the organization and stay for at least 2 years in each organization that you work for. Align your objectives with the company’s objective so that you can add more value to the organization. This will benefit the organization as well as your career in the long run. |
