The role IBS played in my career

On Stock Market to fellow alumni
My advice to them would be to treat markets as an avenue for investments and not as an avenue for getting  “Quick Fix Solutions” or “ Get Rich Overnight”. These syndromes are the principle reasons for heartburn and losses. Let us not get carried away by the fancy screaming of headlines on newspapers and screens. The reality lies elsewhere, in dispassionate judgment, analytical skills and in-depth knowledge. Once we realize these basics, making a career in the markets becomes easy. As a Greek philosopher once noted “analyzing equity markets is a Scientific Art and picking up winners from them is an Artistic Science”.
Remember that, time and not timing is the key to successful investments in stock market.

The do’s  for having the right person for the right job

Hiring is essentially a function of employing skills to enhance productivity. Once the role is clearly defined, factors such as educational credentials, family background, work experience, personality traits and other combination of skills becomes essential. In other words, it is the sum of the parts of all the required ingredients that makes a candidate worthwhile to be considered for a position. Values such as clarity in thought, probity in action, integrity in approach and such humane values are of equal importance.

My advice to the young people on pursuing stock broking as a career….

Tap the uninitiated segment of people in the stock market, with an aim to understand how they perceive the market. To understand their risk appetite and accordingly suggest them various means of entering and benefitting from the Stock market would be an ideal way to enter stock markets.
