Partho Sarothi Bandhopadhya, IBS Ahmedabad (’00) was born in a Bengali family settled in Bihar.  After his graduation, Partho (as he is known among his friends) joined IBS after which there was no looking back.

Partho started his career at the tender age of 18, when he started his business of manufacturing shirts. For the last five years has been working with TATA AIG Life where currently he holds the position of Regional Training Manager and is based out of Pune.

He loves books and that keeps him motivated to be attached to academics. After he comleted PGDBA and DBF from IBS, Partho went on to achieve the Licentiate degree of the Insurance Institute of India, Associate Financial Planner Degree of the CFP Program and ALMI of the International course of LOMA. All this inspite of being a Zoology graduate. WOW!!

Partho has a lot of respect for IBS and says “IBS has contributed majorly to my learning in all these years. There is a sense of belonging to IBS. It was like a second home to me. I still look up to Prof. P Bala Bhaskaran Director, IBS Ahmedabad as my guru. The reason of love towards knowledge and books which, I think today is my biggest asset as it has transformed me into a great human, goes to my mentor Prof. P BALA BHASKARAN who still guides me.”

Partho idolizes his father; “My father has always been my idol. His progressive thinking and positive energy help me to understand the basics not only professionally but personally as well.”
“I got married to Saswati in 2005 and was blessed with our daughter Aditi in 2006 December. Managing Work-home balance had not been a problem before marriage as my parents were managing everything for me and after marriage it would have been impossible without the constant support and help from my wife Saswati.”

Partho Sarothi is a member of the Board of Governors of IBSAF and has been instrumental in many ideas and features that IBSAF has come up with in the past few years.

He believes in enthusing enthusiasm in work and workforce.
“I Still aspire to achieve more both in academics and my professional life and measure my growth every month. I believe in competing more with myself than with anybody else. I have the belief that if one is able to beat and astonish himself every time, the world would automatically learn to appreciate and rewards would follow.”
