Tougher reforms we need
The clouds of terror has finally got over …………….Sixty hours of terrorist siege ended on Saturday. But still the story does not end over here. Today it was Mumbai, tomorrow it could be any other city. The past has not left its face unturned as far as the terrorism has spread its wings. Be it earlier Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, Delhi or last year Hyderabad, the scourge of terrorism has become deeper and wider.
The recent attack on the financial capital of India has made us to draw various important lessons for evolving security framework. Various reports are coming up, stating that they warned for an attack on Mumbai using coastal routes.
But the question arises then why security measures were not made strong for avoiding such heinous event? Were we waiting for such event to happen so that we can sit and mourn for the people whom we lost.
Being spent a part of life in Mumbai it hurts to my sentiments that today I feel really scared to move out from my house. Its been always that Mumbai has returned to normalcy, and the mumbaikars have always been high spirits ………….But think of it again do they any other choice except keeping their spirits high.’
Time has come when we need to show the world that we won’t tolerate such things. It has been an open challenge on the face of India and we need to fight against it. not a single attack has taken place on American Soil after 9/11 attack. But we have seen multiple assaults in just one day and past few months. Next what are we waiting for………..
It’s a high time that we need tougher laws in the country. Rather than parties politicizing the matter and filling their electoral vote banks on such an issue, they should join hands in hands with each other.
The need of the hour is to set up a new federal agency which would be answerable to only three chief of the defence forces and the chief justice of the country.
It will have its own intelligence network and will have the right to access information from IB RAW. It would also have the liberty to use the police, navy, army NSGSs whenever it requires. Moreover this agency would be independent of the current political system.
Secondly we need to set up not NSGs only but also SSGs (State security guards) so that any situation like this happens than we need not to wait for the arrival of commandos from National level.
Along with this not only the coastal security but also Air force and army need to be made stronger and tougher. Because today it was through coast the war spreaded, but there is a high probability tomorrow there might be Air Firing / Air Bombing which would lead in devastating lives of many people.
The Government needs to get tough while dealing with Pakistan as far as the Kashmir issue is concern because the recent attacks has proven that terrorists have risen above ‘religion’. The destruction they were trying to make was not on grounds of religion but they wanted to destroy the peace and humanity.
Thinking and designing strategic plans wont help now but we need to implement those things otherwise movies like “Wednesday” would become a reality.
