Me and my family
I am currently working as Assistant Professor of Finance at John F. Welch College of Business, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut USA. My wife is Prashni Paliwal and we have a 4 1/2 year old son Arnav. I love teaching international finance and risk management. My current research interests are in Market Microstructure and Corporate Governance
Experience with IBS
The training and learning at IBS helped me to deliver my best at the work place. IBS name provided me instant recognition and edge in the Indian financial industry. For me, it was a truly rewarding and beneficial experience.
How has your career progressed after passing out of IBS?
After completing my PGDBA from IBS, I joined National Stock Exchange of India (NSEIL). After almost three years at NSEIL, I decide to pursue doctoral studies in finance. In 2005 I completed Ph.D. in Finance from University of Connecticut USA. Since August 2004, I have been working at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut USA, as Assistant Professor of Finance.

Prioritize, Time Management, be thorough and be first one to admit your mistake. Don’t internalize stress, talk it out.

We support each other in every aspect and plan everything ahead of time.
When did you tie the knot and with whom?
June 1999, with Prashni Paliwal. She did her MSc in Statistics from IIT Kanpur and then PhD in Statistics from University of Connecticut. Since then she has worked for Brown University, Yale University and she is currently working as Senior Bio-statistician at pharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb.
What has been your biggest lesson so far in life?
Do what you love and love what you do.
Who is your idol and why?
Jack Welch and Sachin Tendulakar, for their energy and enthusiasm. They truly do what they love and love what they do. At their peak they were the best but they are not resting on past laurels and continue to work hard.
What is the future of finance services or Marketing sector in India and globally, in the coming 5 years?
I see extremely bright future for Indian economy. It will be dominated by service sector and Financial Services and Marketing will be a major part of it.
How connected are you with your friends and batch mates at IBS?
I am very well connected with my batch mates from IBS. We communicate quite frequently.

Work hard and think global, there are unlimited opportunities for you. Build your network from day one. ◊
