Me and My Family
I am Vidyashankar Ramakrishnan and my wife is Suita. My key areas of interests are finance, fund management and data analysis. I currently work for Tata AIG Life while my wife works for SBH.
My Personal Career Graph…
I have progressed steadily on personal and career front. I got married at 31 and now I am happily married for four long years. Career wise, I have progressed from being an executive/officer about four years back to being an Assistant Manager today. I had a torrid time initially after completing my MBA.
sojourn in IBS…
It was a wonderful experience being in IBS Mumbai. I enjoyed my life thoroughly in the campus. Our dean, Mr. Shirsagar, was an eternal source of inspiration. He was my guiding and motivating force through my stay in IBS.
Ideas of a perfect life…
One happy wife, a beautiful house, 2 months per year of vacation abroad, decent salary and ever rising stock markets.

Life after IBS…
Cool, rewarding and reassuring
Ideal in Life…
Keki Dadiseth
On facing high pressure situations at work…
Never been a problem of any nature, thoroughly enjoyable
Balancing work and family…
That's quite tough, but possible if one keeps a cool head.
Biggest lesson in life…
You can fool some people all the time, all the people some of the time, but never all the people all the time. The lesson is to be true and straightforward in life (professional and personal front both) and that is quite a rewarding experience (However, easier said than done).
Distressing…
The continued brain drain in the country and the way the selfish-rich deprive the poor of the smallest possible happiness.
Hobbies…
Cricket, Carom, chess, music and making new friends/contacts
How connected are you with your friends / batch mates at IBS?
Not very much, I have the numbers of only a handful of colleagues. I would like to be connected better with all the people I knew and loved.
Advice to the young students interested in pursuing a career in banking sector…
