Mr. Ajay Nahar, IBS Chennai (’99), is the Managing Director of Ajay Investments and Nahar Finance Co. An open minded person and basically with a helping nature, Ajay is generally very confident and sure of his fundamentals. In a recent visit to IBS Hyderabad to assume his very important role as an interviewer at IBS Admission 2008, Ajay spends some time with Team IBSAF. While gaily interacting with his other fellow-mates, Ajay was seen taking his new role quite seriously. The visit had its own charm of interviewing young students who have the potential to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Prof. Venkatesh addressing the crowd

The new campus and the state of the art facilities provided for the students had him spellbound. His feelings, on visiting the campus were mesmerizing. "It cannot be explained in words." Ajay is of the opinion that IBS was good during his student days, but its new avatar is certainly gripping. It has become one of the best. The system has become more focused and redefined, his observation, that is. The 9th position that IBS has reached today is almost a story of the past. For him, his alma mater is going to be positioned among the top 2 in a few years from now. And why not? There’s so much that the institute is providing the students with… there will be obvious results. Yes Ajay! We certainly agree with you.

With his friend Abhijit at the IBS Admissions 2008

Ajay is quite proud to be called an IBS-ite. According to him, “IBS has been critical in shaping me into what I am today. It has changed my understanding of Capital and expanded the vision of my life from adding one zero too many in my capital.” Yes, that no doubt is some lesson! He is certain that his learning will take him to further unchartered territories as there are still many areas in India’s financial markets which are untapped but reachable. He also says that, “We should always remember that IBS has brushed our knowledge to make us what we are today. So we should be loyal in giving back what best we can to it as guru dakshina.

When asked about the newsletter, IBSAF World, Ajay’s response was spontaneous. He likes his newsletter and feels that it has been quite instrumental to help him keep in touch with his friends at IBS. There’s no doubt in his mind that IBS and IBSAF are going to be among the cream of India in no time.

He also has a few things to tell to the young starters:

Be confident with your fundamentals
1. Always try to improve your knowledge everyday in whatever field you are
2. Remember to smile
3. Take deep breath even in the toughest situation.

We are sure these suggestions will help them quite a lot!

IBS Admissions 2008 brings Mr. Laiq Ali Khan, IBS Hyderabad (’00) to Hyderabad from his present home, Singapore. Laiq is the Team Head, Business Development with ABN Amro Bank, Singapore. The young student, who had once been interviewed by the expert panel to get through IBS, finds the new role quite enchanting for him. He was earnestly glad to be there at IBS Hyderabad, participating in the Admission 2008 as an interviewer. “It is an amazing experience”, says Laiq.

Team IBSAF catches this very busy alumnus in the midst of an interacting session with his fellow friends and young students. At the first opportunity, Laiq expresses his heartfelt debts to his alma mater—the IBS. It has played a very crucial role and has been very significant in making him what he is today. With much better facilities and scope, he feels that IBS is up there among the best and it is going to touch new heights and set new records. Its ranking in the 9th position has done all of them proud. The institution, according to him, has achieved very bright and noticeable progress. Laiq, especially, is extremely pleased with this. “Work hard,” he says to the young starters. That’s the only way to excel!

It was a memorable moment for us when we asked Laiq about his experience with IBSAF! He is extremely pleased with his interactions. “It was rewarding”, he observed. So much so, that he doesn’t wish any changes in the IBSAF World.

Well! That’s rewarding for us sure. We would ensure that it stays that way for you always!

This interaction and participation has given Laiq enough contentment and enthusiasm to be willing to be involved with all possible ways with the IBS. But distance plays the culprit here. So we will keep that in mind and still have you with us!
