Smile—Your Sure Way To Make Others Happy

‘There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way’
What do you think about this quote? Do you agree? Or disagree?
I, for myself, initially thought this meant that happiness is really mythical, or at least too elusive. But sitting further back, reading it slowly again, the quote developed a different meaning. I now understand that happiness is not external, but an internal state of mind.
In this respect then, happiness is more than a "feel good" luxury. It is essential to people's wellbeing.
Cheerful people are more likely to try new things and challenge themselves. The positive attitude in itself reinforces optimism that leads to success in work, good relationships and strong health. Happiness and Success Very often, people confuse happiness with success. It is generally assumed that success causes happiness. Health causes happiness. Having family, friends and money makes us happy. While it cannot be denied that having a sunny outlook on life precedes good fortune, it is absolutely important to understand that happiness and success are not synonymous. It only goes to say that happiness is an important precursor and determinant to success. |

And what could be that hidden mantra that unlocks the happiness quotient for you?
Though all of us want to be happy, it is not possible to be the same always. Because it is a truth that Unhappiness Exists! Life is certainly not a bed of roses and we do have to have that walk on the thorns to reach the flower-petals. The best thing that could be done under the circumstances is to feel happy. One thing to keep always in mind is that even if we are not happy, we must pretend to be so. It doesn’t help anybody but us.
The effort of pretension helps take the mind off the problem. In spite of brooding on the same thing, it is best to keep the mind engaged. Yes, it is difficult but believe me it is not impossible. In no time, the efforts pay off; giving us inner strength, satisfaction, content, courage and confidence to overcome any hurdle. This is nothing but believing in our Self. Let us take this example to illustrate further: One of my favorite movie scenes is from the Indiana Jones movie where Indiana and his father are searching for the Holy Grail. Indiana’s father lies dying at the hands of the Nazis and to save his life Indiana must find the Holy Grail.
To get to the Grail, Indiana has to accurately decode his father’s Grail diary which will enable him to make his way through certain life-threatening challenges. After successfully making his way through several of the tests, he comes to a huge chasm that lies between where he is and where he wants to be.
He reads the Bible passage from his father’s diary which has to do with “faith being the evidence of things not seen”. He picks up a handful of sand and throws it out to the chasm only to see the sand fall on an invisible bridge.
I hope, now you know, what I have been trying to point out.
It is simply that to be happy and successful you first have to have faith in yourself.
So make yourself the number one priority and follow your bliss, you align with your True Self, you live YOUR life, and you savor the true joy of living.

Making room for happiness
How we think about happiness and success has a profound implication for how we run our lives. If we think that success mainly leads to happiness then we are more motivated to focus on success to the exclusion of happiness right now, assuming that happiness will naturally flow from success when we obtain it.
If the psychological research is right, though, the strategy would still be to pursue success, but not, crucially, to the exclusion of happiness.
Feeling better in the moment is not only more pleasant but is also likely to open our minds to opportunities at work, play and in our personal relationships. It's recognizing and taking these opportunities that will lead us to success. Happiness then does not remain the destination. It becomes the successful journey of life for what is life if:
we didn’t have dreams
we didn’t believe in impossible
we didn’t have hope
we didn’t believe in wonders!!!
