Regional Manager
Wipro |
"IBS has given my career a fast track growth. I really feel proud to be associated with IBS. It is sheer hard work of the institute in building brand IBS over the decade to reach the 9th position in B-school ranking." |

Mr. Chirag Joshi, IBS Bangalore (’98), is working with Wipro as Regional Manager, Sales. He is currently located at Singapore. He flew down from there to take part in the IBS Admissions 2008 at IBS Hyderabad. Page 3 catches up with this busy alumnus who was very excited to visit the campus and felt honored to be an integral part of the admission process. He simply enjoyed his time interviewing candidates.
Chirag has around 13.5 years of industry experience in Manufacturing and IT. He started his IT career in project delivery as a Sr. System Analyst and grew to become a Program Manager. Recently he moved into sales to look after enterprise sales of Wipro for South East Asia and moved to Singapore along with his mother, wife, Neha and two kids, Shrey and Shree.
At Wipro, he has faced various challenges in his profile, among which he thinks that “Growing business, retaining customer account and ensuring customer satisfaction” are the main challenges.
Chirag was full of enthusiasm and appreciation about the progress of his alma mater and the impact that it has on the academia as well as the industry.
According to him, while he was a student at IBS, the institution was still struggling to mark its niche where as nowadays “we have a large college campus with dedicated faculty members and very good infrastructural facilities. Brand IBS is well accepted in the corporate world as well. All these make IBS one of the best B school to choose for education.”

He talks about IBS as one of the premier management institutes in the country today that has grown in leaps and bounds. It is quite prepared to enter the elite B school clubs in India. In another few years, he thinks, it would be among the top three and be one of the most sought after B schools in India. He expresses his wish to continue to be a part of his alma mater always; either through IBS teaching or through other academic processes. |
"Excellent campus, feel like rejoining IBS." |

When Chirag was asked to express his views about IBSAF, this is what he has to say: “My experience has been very good with IBSAF and I feel it’s doing fantastic work bringing the alumni together. I could meet some of my batchmates since my IBS days only through the IBSAF platform, which is a good mode to connect and network with industry people. Conduct more overseas IBSAF events inviting Deans of various IBS centers and IBS Board Members. IBSAF is to be one of the most influential and powerful network in the industry.” Thank you, Chirag! We are really happy to have fulfilled our promise then—to bring YOU closer! Our efforts will continue to be in keeping with your suggestions to bring you information about various events, placement statistics and the happening news of the IBSAF family through IBSAF World.
Winding up the conversation, Chirag sends this message to the young starters:
º Try and find a first job with a good company and stick there for at least five years.
º If you have to satisfy with small to mid size corporate then try and develop specialization in some unique skills. ◊
