Knowing Your True Nature |
|
We are the young generation of the 21st century, mostly working in corporate sectors with big fat pays. Yet most of us live through an unending story of incompleteness, restlessness, frustration and anxiety, health woes as well as family troubles. Or is there something more to be added to the list? I believe majority would respond in an affirmative to one or most of the above.
I, for one, still remember the placement days when we used to be desperate for lucrative pays. But today, the same fat pay doesn’t give me the satisfaction that I used to crave for. And it is true for most of us. Unless we really understand the meaning of living, material achievements/accomplishments do not add any charm to it.
The paradox of life is we are not what we are, but are what we were told to become. Starting from our parents and relatives to friends, teachers, peers, prophets and others—most of them have conditioned our mind to equate achievement in terms of material advancements. |
|
But have we really thought what we want from life? If not, I think it’s time to do so. Most of us currently exist in an ‘ego mode of consciousness’. Generally, the word ego may take several meanings; but what I mean by ego is ‘non acceptance of what is’. It is difficult for human beings to comprehend that everything in his life is pre-ordained. Nothing is under his/her control. The general mistake that people always make is that they wait for a beautiful life to start instead of enjoying life as it is. This happens basically because the human ego starts creating differences which then become a ‘collective mindset’ or what we may call a ‘collective ego sense’. Then the society is split into various ego groups which we may put in business jargon as SEC levels. Marketing does nothing but creating ego consciousness through associations. |
 |
When I say ‘non acceptance of what is’, I mean ‘non acceptance of oneself as a pure human’ which is not ruled by his egoist mind. You as a human is free, liberated and always in bliss. The thinking has killed you. It has spoiled you completely. I don’t say you should not think. Yes we should, but when required. But when ego rules your mind you suffer, you suffer to keep up your image and then the cycle of egoism starts spiraling.
Just imagine yourself in your office. Be the watcher. Do not judge. There are so many things you might have not noticed. It may be very much in front of you but you have missed it. When was the last time you looked very happy, happy not because you got a promotion, but just happy! It may not have happened. Because we feel achieving materially gives happiness. Achieving materially gives pleasure but that doesn’t last long and then you start running again. Be yourself. Break all the barriers so created by the society. Start enjoying every moment of your life. Wish your peons, housekeeping staff and ask about their welfare. Do it without any expectation. Similarly with your colleagues & bosses irrespective of their positions.
Everybody is after all human!! Even he likes to be wished. Everybody wants each other. Be your own self- ever pure, beautiful and amazing. Soon you will find a wave of compassion & love in your surroundings. Productivity will improve. Do not judge or think how the other person may react. Just do it. Soon your health and family issues will also be solved. You will be in bliss. ◊ |
